1月4日拉斯维加斯的消费电子展上，微软在新闻发布会上宣布将为Xbox 360 提供外置的HD DVD驱动器配件，在2006年上市。届时用户可以在Xbox 360上欣赏HD DVD带来的高清晰电影。另外，Gates还向媒体展示了将在今年上市的Windows Vista，使用Windows的Treo 700w，以及Windows Live服务等新技术。(via: solidot)
