OpenOffice.org 2.4.0 发布之后，OpenOffice.org 的开发工作就要进入下一阶段了。之前有不少消息表明 OpenOffice.org 3.0 将是一个重大升级，不仅将增加 Mac OS X 兼容版本，还将完全兼容 MS Office 2007 的文件格式。其它增加的还有一个全新的启动中心、电子表格 Calc 线性规划工具 Solver、幻灯片组件 Impress 的原生表格支持等：
