Mozilla 基金会于 2006 年 10 月 24 日正式发布了 Firefox 2.0 版本，本版本基于 2007 年 2 月 23 日发布的 2.0.0.2 正式版制作。这一次在定制的免安装版内除了一些必要的优化之外，还作一下先期设置、预置一些扩展等等。

注意：如果完全不喜欢别人设定好的，可以直接清理 FirefoxPortable\Data\profile 下的所有文件，然后重启 Firefox 即可。或者把旧版的 FirefoxPortable\Data\profile 下的所有文件复制到已经清空的新版同目录下也可以保存之前所有设置。

- 保留 7 天网址历史
- 记住表单和输入框内容
- 接收站点 Cookie 直到他们过期
- 增加抓虾和 Netvibes 为新的 Feeds 收取点
- 记住网站密码
- 使用 SSL 3.0，使用 TLS 2.0
- 启动时不做任何更新检查
- 200MB 缓存
