在刚刚结束的 WWDC 2009 开幕演讲上，Apple 全球营销高级副总裁 Phil Schiller 发布了第三代 iPhone 手机，名字就叫做iPhone 3G S。其中，字母"S"代表了 Speed 速度。顾名思义，Apple 这一次将注意力放在了提升系统性能方面。

iPhone 3G S的外观设计和上一代产品iPhone 3G完全相同，整机、屏幕尺寸没有进行任何修改，重量从133g略微增加到135g。而在内部，iPhone 3G S对硬件配置进行了全面升级。根据苹果在发布会上的说法，iPhone 3G S启动短信应用程序的速度是iPhone 3G的2.1倍，载入《虚拟城市》游戏的速度是2.4倍，浏览Excel附件3.6倍速度，载入纽约时报网页是2.9倍速度，其他各种应用的速度也都是 iPhone 3G的两倍以上。另外，iPhons 3G S还支持OpenGL ES 2.0标准，支持7.2Mbps 3.5G HSDPA高速网络。

摄像头应用是iPhone 3G S的最大功能革新，虽然从表面看和上代产品没有什么区别。但iPhone 3G S的摄像头已经升级到300万像素，最近对焦距离10cm，提升了低照明条件下的拍摄表现。支持自动对焦，拍摄时也可以通过触摸选择对焦对象。

更重要的是，iPhone 3G S支持VGA分辨率30FPS视频拍摄，视频拍摄过程中提供自动对焦，自动曝光和自动白平衡。用户可直接在手机内对视频进行剪辑，上传至YouTube、 MobileMe共享或通过彩信、电邮发送。另外，苹果还提供了摄像头应用API，第三方软件开发者可以将拍照和视频拍摄功能集成在自己的软件中。

iPhone 3G S的其他新特性还包括：

语音控制功能，按住Home键（或线控中键）一秒钟即可启动。语音拨号可直接说出号码或通讯录内的人名，而iPod音乐播放的语音控制功能则更为强大。用户可以用多种命令控制音乐播放，如："播放甲壳虫乐队歌曲"，"播放我的最爱列表"等，也可以说："现在播的是什么歌"，甚至"播放和现在这首歌类似的歌曲"，所有语音命令都将得到人工语音回复。语音控制功能支持多种语言，其中中文语音就包括大陆中文、台湾中文和粤语。

内置数字指南针，可通过集成在Google Maps中实现更多应用，也支持第三方软件API使用。 其他新特性还包括：支持Nike+耐克计步器功能。支持辅助选项，如读屏、屏幕放大、反色显示等。针对企业用户支持硬件数据加密、远程擦除、加密iTunes备份等。

iPhone 3G S直接预装iPhone OS 3.0操作系统，而旧版iPhone通过升级iPhone OS 3.0也能够支持的新功能包括：

iTunes影视商店，可直接从手机登陆网上商店购买或租看电影、电视剧集等。

联机共享上网功能，通过USB或蓝牙连接，无需额外软件即可让电脑通过iPhone网络连接上网。该功能需要运营商支持，目前苹果合作伙伴中已有22家支持，但美国独家合作伙伴AT&T并不在列。

家长控制，所有视频和软件都可定义级别，由家长设置孩子在手机中可接触的信息。

Find My iPhone功能，结合苹果的MobileMe云计算服务，随时随地登录浏览器即可定位手机所在位置。如果就在附近，可以发送信息强制其播放铃声。而如果已经丢失，可以远程擦除所有数据。

其他iPhone OS 3.0新功能还包括之前宣布过的推送提醒、复制粘贴、彩信支持、蓝牙快速互联、Google Maps增强，以及更多语言支持、表格自动完成、语音备忘功能等。iPhone OS 3.0将于6月17日发布，iPhone用户可免费升级，iPod touch则需收费9.95美元。而付费开发会员今天就可以拿到最终正式版本进行最后的测试，并开始设定自己软件的家长控制级别。

iPhone 3G S的电池续航能力有所提升，提供最高300小时待机，9小时WiFi网络浏览，10小时视频播放，30小时音频播放，12小时2G通话或5小时3G通话时间。

环保方面，iPhone 3G S使用无砷玻璃，无溴化物，无汞液晶屏幕，整机含附件没有使用PVC材料，手机包装大量使用回收材料，包装体积比上代小23%。

iPhone 3G S provides new accessibility features including VoiceOver, a screen reader that speaks what appears on the iPhone 3G S display, enabling visually impaired users to make calls, read email, browse web pages, play music and run applications. The new universal Zoom function magnifies the entire screen, and the White on Black feature reverses the colors on screen to provide higher contrast for people with low vision. iPhone 3G S also supports Mono Audio which combines left and right audio channels so that they can be heard in both earbuds for those with hearing loss in one ear.

Pricing & Availability

iPhone 3G S will be available in the US on June 19 for a suggested retail price of $199 (US) for the 16GB model and just $299 (US) for the new 32GB model in both Apple and AT&T's retail and online stores, Best Buy and Wal-Mart stores. iPhone 3G S requires a new two year contract with AT&T for qualifying customers. iPhone OS 3.0 software will be available on June 17 as a free software update via iTunes 8.2 or later for all iPhone customers. iPod touch customers will be able to purchase a software update for $9.95 (US). Beginning June 8, iPhone 3G will be available for just $99 (US) for the 8GB model. New MobileMe features for iPhone require iPhone OS 3.0. MobileMe is available for an annual subscription price of $99 (US).
